He had told, and is proven that he had a medical condition of the skin called vertiligo, and that he had nothing to do with the physical changes he going through. ((Vertiligo is a condition where the depigmentation of the skin dies, [the skin turns to a lighter color, which is normally first seen on the hands and face] The color changes range from very light peach to porcelain white.)) In some photos of Michael Jackson, discoloration of the skin is visible. Many people believed that he was trying to be a white person, but he claimed that he is proud of being a black American, and that he has alot of pride in that, but that he is very sad that he has this condition. The media told the people that he wore a face mask because he was a "germ freak", but it was most likely that he wore it to protect his sensitive skin from sun rays. He says that if there was a way to turn back to his old color, he wouldn't though becuase he "is who he is" and that this is what nature had brought him up to be and that God had aloud this to happen him. In a interview with Barshir he explains that he never had surgery on his eyes, lips, or anywhere on his face but he only had plastic surgery on his nose for better breathing and for him to sing better. He also explained that he never enhanced his cheek bones (like what was rumoured) or anything otherwise his nose. He wore makeup the smooth out blotches and patches on his face as what was told in Oprah's interview. Michael Jackson created a place for children called Neverland. There he spent time with sick children, to help them recover. He told Oprah in a 1993 interview that dying, cancerous children came there to recover.
